Message from SETTA League Coordinator

SETTA Members,

Our next league is COMBO and it will be starting VERY soon. Levels offered this year are 5.5, 6.5, 7.5, 8.5, & 9.5. Three doubles lines will be played each match. No more than 1.0 rating difference between partners is allowed. Combo goes by your year-end rating. Players must have played one local match in order to advance to sectionals. This year sectionals will be on October 15th-17th in Dallas. In order to finish the league before Sectionals, we will need to start ASAP!!!

COMBO start dates and days are as follows:

5.5 – Tuesday evenings starting on September 14th
6.5 – Monday evenings starting on September 6th
7.5 – Thursday evenings starting on August 19th
8.5 – Tuesday evenings starting on September 14th

Depending on how many teams are in each level, I may have to schedule two matches in one week, because of the time crunch. That may just effect one week of play. Last year the 7.5 COMBO played each team once and then had playoffs to determine the winner. I would like to do that again this year with any level that has more than four teams.

If you are planning on captaining a team, please send me your name, USTA #, and level!!! I will need this information ASAP in order to start scheduling.

Tri-level

I will be starting the Tri-level league early this year. The proposed date will be October 25th or November 1st. The sectionals date is not out yet, but it will most likely be mid February 2011. Last year we started the league after the first of the year and everybody had to use their 2010 end of the year rating; which caused allot of problems because of the bump-ups. If we start earlier this year, everyone will be able to use their ratings as it is NOW!

ATTENTION...
There has been a misunderstanding in regards to which ratings will be used for our TRI-LEVEL league this year! I will be starting the league on November 2nd; because it will begin before the 2010 Year-End Ratings come out (December), players will be forced to use their EARLY SEASON ratings! I have sent an e-mail with the Men’s and Women’s Early Season Ratings list. If your name is NOT on the list, then your rating has NOT changed! Your EARLY SEASON RATING will NOT appear on tennis link! Also, Self Rated players will NOT be allowed to play in the TRI-LEVEL league! I will have to cut off registration on November 25th, before End of Year Ratings are issued, so please make sure you are registered before then!


3.0-3.5-4.0 level will be played on Tuesdays
3.5-4.0-4.5 level will be played on Thursdays

If you are captaining a team, please let me know, so I can start issuing team numbers. Please make sure you include the level and your USTA#.
