First,
SETTA is getting a website and would like suggestions for the website
name. if you have a suggestion please make sure it’s available on Go
Daddy and then submit it for us to choose. If your name is chosen you
will receive two cans of balls. We need this name by February 28th.
Next,
anyone interested in becoming a USTA official? It involves a one day
school and working with another USTA official at a tournament for 4 hours to
become a certified USTA official. With this certification you will be
able to work tournaments and earn extra money. There are schools still
available. Contact Glen Morgan at gmorgan@rmqlawfirm.com
if you are interested for the details.
Third,
our SETTA bylaws are in need of an overhaul. If you are interested in
serving on a committee to review and revise the current bylaws contact Glen
Morgan at gmorgan@rmqlawfirm.com.
Lastly,
hats off to our local tennis pros!! At the SETTA meeting Wednesday night
(again every 3rd Wednesday of the month if you missed it) the pros
announced they are working on a program to conduct free clinics for young adult
beginners that would then funnel into our Lonestar league. Way to go guys
and thanks for the help in growing tennis in our area.
Very
truly yours,
Glen W. Morgan
