New courts on schedule for completion in November. Blue prints in the side panel...
SETTA spoke with Damon Jones Sunday 09/20/09 and he said that they will be pouring the base for the new tennis courts within the next two weeks and that they still plan to have the courts finished by the end of November 2009. They are also extending the parking lot and they have cleared the property that will be used for the next phase which includes the new tennis clubhouse.
Damon Jones is an engineer for the City of Beaumont, a tennis player and he has been assigned to the project. If you have questions you would like to have answered as the project progresses then you can add them to the comment section at the bottom of this blog and Claude Guidroz (SETTA) or Damon Jones will answer them.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT PHASE 1 INCLUDES AS FAR AS THE COURTS,THE CLUBHOUSE,ETC.I HAVE BEEN ASKED THIS AND I DO NOT HAVE THE ANSWER.
I believe the 8 courts and possibly extra parking are phase one, the clubhouse possibly the stadium court are phase two and I believe the 4 covered courts would be phase three. I will confirm with Claude who has attended the meetings and he will be back in town this weekend.
The new blueprints are awesome! Even better is the progress on the construction of the 8 new courts - love it! :)

Why are the new courts going to be blue when the old ones will remain green? That will look tacky and unprofessional. Those kind of decisions should be addressed to the SETTA community and not just the board members. Also whether or not you have to pay to use the courts should be a group decision as well.
What is expected completion date for eight new courts?
I have appreciated the progress of the courts for the Beaumont Community. Beaumont has many major "players" in the tennis world and have seen many leave us. Now, that the city courts will be something to be "proud" of, I think we may retain some better talent- both Jr. and Adult level players and coaches.
