We lost a dear tennis friend this week. His friendship and leadership will be greatly missed.
I met David like I do so many new tennis players thru email. David came back to tennis just 3 years ago and immediately offered to captain a team - actually 2 teams and has been providing that kind of assistance to grow tennis and give opportunities to others.
Ray and I had the pleasure of his friendship for much too short a time but feel so much richer for it. We a send our love and prayers to his family.
I had the good fortune of playing on two teams which David captained.
He was a true gentleman both on & off the court. He always had an infectious positive attitude, and offered encouragement no matter what the level of your game.
Although I didn't have the opportunity to know David very well off the courts, I feel blessed to have known him at all.

Before tennis 2007, David was in the Civil Air Patrol where he flew Cadets and instructed them in their achievement programs. David was an excellent CFI and we flew together.
In 2007 David knew I played tennis and eventually decided to come back out on the courts. We played singles and doubles in the Casa Ole Winter tournament in Pasadena December 2007. It was 2007 when David became involved with SETTA which he enjoyed. Tennis was fun for David.
David was a good friend and a great person to all he met. God bless you.
Last night, I got e mail from SETTA and I found out about what happened to David Watson. Let me tell you something about David. I am very honor to participate in his team for one year. He is true gentlemen who show good on and off the court. He welcomes any players to join and play for fun. If I was not here without him, I will not be able to play in tennis league with anyone in Beaumont, Texas. I will win one match for David Waston next week for him. God bless him and his family. I will pray for his family and tennis players who know him for a long time.
